Course Overview
Theory competency assessment
Trainees have their theoretical knowledge assessed to determine if any gaps exist. All incorrect responses are discussed and re-assessed after additional training.
Bad Operating Habits / Previous Accidents Discussed
All of the most common bad operating habits are discussed at length as well as their consequences.
Practical operating assessment
Trainees are shown the level of competence compliant with industry standards at which they are required to operate. This level of competence is demonstrated and each trainee is individually assessed on their equipment.
Battery Handling, Maintenance & Charging
Trainees are shown the procedures for safe battery handling and charging and the related dangers will be explained.
On completion of the training you will receive a EWPA Nationally Recognised Yellow Plastic Card with photo I.D. This will have all the Classes of the courses in which you are deemed to be competent.
Course Outline
- Operator Safety Checks / Reporting Machine Faults
- All equipment should be compliant, forklift mechanically maintained.
- Refresher Forklift course content: This course is designed for those who already hold a forklift licence, but wish to refresh their skills and knowledge in line with current legislation requirements, including OH&S duty of care responsibilties.
- NOTE: This course is delivered on site or at our venue.Theory is conducted as a group session, followed by practical training for each individual forklift driver via a one on one basis. To deliver this training, a quiet room is required for the theory component; and a forklift truck, pallet loads and a warehouse environment for the practical components.
- Pre-requisites Participants must already hold a current forklift (LF) licence Course Content Licensing requirements
- Operating procedures
- Safe working practices. Operators duties and responsibilities,Identification and avoidance hazards
- Forklift truck components
- Onsite Racking
- Forklift truck regulations,any changes to recent laws and regulations that affect operators are included
- Pre-operational checks, reporting machine fault and trainees are taken through either their company’s safety check list or one provided by us.The procedures for reporting accidents and machine damage are explained and tested
- Battery handling, maintenance & charging. Trainees are shown the procedures for safe battery handling and charging and the related dangers will be explained
- General operating procedures of the forklift, bad operating habits / previous accidents discussed All of the most common bad operating habits are discussed at length as well as their consequences.General driving procedures regarding the safe use of equipment and their attachments are discussed and tested

What to Bring:
- Appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
- Safety shoes or boots
- Hi-vis shirt and
- A broad brimmed sun hat and water bottle is recommended
- We supply tea and coffee milk (Fridge) Cafe driving distance from venue
- Provide three forms of identification
