RIIMPO318F – Bobcat (Skid Steer) Operations in Civil Construction nationally recognised course (unlimited Size Track or Wheeled)

We offer training sessions in small groups focused on enhancing both theoretical and practical skills for students!

Course Duration & Dates

The course is designed for beginners or people with experience.

The Duration of the training depends on the Trainee’s experience and the number of participants in the class. If the Trainee needs more practical sessions, we can schedule additional sessions until they feel confident and the trainer deems the trainee competent

Option: 1  Recognition of Prior Learning, 4hrs – 1 day, depending on your past experience.

Option: 2  Training can be conducted at your workplace or at our training venue.

Option: 2   Learn at your own pace,

1^st day: Theory and Practical Training. If you need more practical experience, we may have to bring you back for a second day, or we can issue you with a logbook, which you can then return to your workplace and operate under supervision while you are getting ready for your assessment.

Course start Time: The course is scheduled to begin at 7:30 AM; however, the timing may be adjusted following discussions with the office for group bookings

Course Overview

• Plan work – Identify hazards and implement appropriate control measures;
• Conduct routine checks – Check logbook, structural integrity, safety and communication equipment;
• Apply appropriate hazard prevention/control measures;
• Planning and Preparing
• Pre operational checks
• Familiarising yourself with the machine
• Operating the Bobcat (Skid Steer). Use relevant plant movements, use best mobile practice and respond to unplanned/unsafe situations, use of attachements;
• Load, carry and place materials
  Select, remove and fit attachments
• Carry out machine operator maintenance
• Conduct housekeeping activities
• Theory training
• Theory Assessment

• Shut down – Correctly Stow away Skid steer and safety equipment, conduct routine post-operational checks, clean up workplace;

Course Outline

• Set up – Check ground suitability, apply appropriate hazard prevention/control measures;
• Operate EWP – Use relevant plant movements, use best mobile practice and respond to unplanned/unsafe    situations, use of riggers and stabilizers;
• Shut down – Correctly stow EWP and safety equipment, conduct routine post-operational checks, clean up workplace;
